Brett Ratner is currently in talks to direct a new Hercules film for MGM. Fans of swords and sandals films have a lot to be excited about with Immortals coming out this summer. We also have Conan the Barbarian, but I am not sold on Jason Mamoa. Last July we reported that Ratner was interested in a directing Hercules film with Avi Lerner producing. That project was dropped by Ratner who went on to focus his efforts on Tower Heist.

According to Vulture, Ratner is circling another Hercules project and is in negotiations to direct Hercules: The Thracian Wars, based on Radical Comics book of the same name penned by Steve Moore. Ryan Condal wrote the script for the new project. He also wrote the script for Alex Proyas's adapation of Milton's Paradise Lost at Legendary Pictures.

I am excited to see Tower Heist, it has a great cast. A Hercules sounds cool to me. What are your thoughts on the possibility?
