Mark Ruffalo is hopting to take the lead in the upcoming Scott Rudin-produced erotic drama called Red Light Winter, a film that involves hookers in Amsterdam.

Here is the story:

“[T]two thirty-something New Yorkers who go to Amsterdam to rekindle their friendship and get away from the serious dramas in their lives (break-ups and illnesses), but a run-in with a Red Light district prostitute, alters their lives forever.”

Ruffalo had this to say about the role:

“Yes. I want to do it. They’re still putting that movie together, it’s based on a play, I think it was nominated for a Tony a couple of years ago, on Broadway.”

A deal is not finalized, but it will be very soon. The Playlist article also says that Ruffalo will NOT be in Cogan's Trade opposite Brad Pitt. At least we can look forward to Ruffalo in Winter and as The Hulk in The Avengers. What are your thoughts on this news?
