Jessica Biel in talks to join TOTAL RECALL reboot
Jessica Biel is circling one of two female lead roles in Sony Pictures' Total Recall reboot. If cast, she will star opposite Colin Farrell. Sony has offered her the role, but no negotations has begun. It's unclear which role she would play.
Sharon Stone played Lori and Rachel Ticotin played Melina in the original 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger starrer. The film follows "Douglas Quaid, a man who believes he is a secret agent and ends up on a Martian colony where he fights to overthrow a ruler controlling the production of air." It was first thought that Biel would play the role of Melina, but Variety reports that there's a chance she may play the other character. A number of actresses have gone out for the roles including Eva Mendes, Kate Bosworth and Paula Patton, and sources say the decision for the other lead is still being considered.
The reboot will be directed by Len Wiseman, with Farrell playing the Schwarzenegger role and Bryan Cranston attached to play the villain. Neal H. Moritz and Toby Jaffe are producing with Mark Bomback and James Vanderbilt scripting. The original film was directed by Paul Verhoeven based on a Philip K. Dick short story. It grossed more than $250 million at the worldwide box office.
