Zach Galifianakis forced to drop out of R.I.P.D.

Zach Galifianakis has been forced to drop out of Universal Pictures supernatural comedy R.I.P.D. He was set to star opposite Ryan Reynolds for director Robert Schwentke in the story about a force of undead police officers, based on the Peter Lenkov comic. Galifianakis' project schedule was full and he was forced to drop out. He had hoped to fit the film in before or after he stars with Will Ferrell in the Jay Roach-directed Southern Rivals for Warner Bros. With Reynolds locked in for a possible sequel to Warner Bros.' Green Lantern, there was no certainty whether those plans would work. Galifianakis is also commited to starring in HBO's Bored to Death. It is a shame because I think that Reynolds and Galifianakis would have been awesome together.
