DARK SHADOWS, RIVALS, JOURNEY 2 and more release dates announced

Release dates have been announced for Dark Shadows, Rivals, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and many more.

Dark Shadows has Johnny Depp reteaming once again with Tim Burton to remake the late ‘60s/early ‘70s vampire TV series. The cast also includes Helena Bonham Carter (no surprise), Chloe Moretz, Eva Green, Michelle Pfeiffer and more. It features the music of Danny Elfman and arrives in theaters on May 11, 2012.

Rivals (once titled Southern Rivals) is a political comedy directed by Jay Roach and starring Zach Galifianakis and Will Ferrell. The film follows "two politicians jockeying for position in a small congressional district in South Carolina." The film is set for release a few months ahead of the Presidential election on Aug. 10, 2012.

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island  starring Brendan Fraser, Dwayne Johnson, Michael Caine and Josh Hutcherson for release in 3D on January 27, 2012. Lionsgate has slated that the pregnancy comedy, What to Expect When You’re Expecting starring Cameron Diaz for a release on May 11, 2012.

Magnolia has set a release date of November 4th, 2012 for Lars Von Trier‘s Melancholia. Summit Entertainment's thriller Gone, starringAmanda Seyfried arrives in theaters on February 24, 2012. 

Things are not looking too well for Todd Phillips’ low-budget comedy Project X. It has been bumpted from the November 2011 release season into a TBD 2012 spot. The Cold Light of Day starring Henry Cavill has also been pushed. It has moved from September 2011 to April 6, 2012.
