Stephen King's CARRIE Get Remade Yet Again
Screen Gems is going to once again remake the classic Stephen King story Carrie. Brian DePalma directed the first adaptation in 1976 with Sissy Spacek, Piper Laurie and John Travolta. The original is still by far the best one, these other modern day adaptations sucked. I just can't imagine this next one will be any better.
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa was hired by the studio to write the script. He most recently wrote the cursed stage play Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark. The book tells the story of a misunderstood high school girl named Carrie White. She has extraordinary telekinetic powers that lead to her going on violent rampage of revenge.
This is such a great and horrific tale. It just seems like a waste of time and money to remake this story, which was already adapted into perfectly haunting film. What are your thoughts on this little bit of news?
