Larry David to play Mother Mengle in THE THREE STOOGES

Movie The Farrelly Brothers by

It looks like Larry David is close to joining the cast of Peter and Bobby Farrelly's 20th Century Fox comedy The Three Stooges. A deal is in the final stages with David to play Mother Mengele, "the unfortunate nun who runs the orphanage where the Stooges grow up and learn to create mayhem." Daivd joins Jane Lynch, who plays Mother Superior, Chris Diamantopoulos, who’s signing on to play Moe, Will Sasso, who's playing Curly, and Sean Hayes, who signed on recently to play Larry Fine. The film is based on a script by the Farrelly Brothers. The Three Stooges is said to have a $30 million budget and will be filmed in three 27-minute segments (just like the originals) to make a single story. Production is scheduled to begin in May for a 2012 release.

I really like Larry David (creator of Seinfeld and star of HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm) and think he's a unique addition to the cast. It's going to be interesting to see him dressed as a nun.
