Takashi Miike directing ACE ATTORNEY adaptation?
Takashi Miike has already started work on his next film an adaptation of Capcom's Ace Attorney games for the Nintendo DS. His last film 13 Assassins, is currently playing VOD and in limited theaters. His first 3D film, Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai, premiered at Cannes to mixed reviews. Here is what Miike had to say in a statement to The Huffington Post:
It is a very light comedy that I am filming now, a court drama, based on a video game, the Nintendo game DS.
Miike has yet to name the game, but the only games that take place in a courtroom are the Ace Attorney games. The games are soon to arrive in the US with the translated edition Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Check out the the trailer and the video clip below to get an idea of the gameplay:
After watching those, I am hard pressed to imagine how that can turn into a live-action adaptation. It will be interesting to see what Miike has planned. What are your thoughts on this news?
