Ben Stiller talks ZOOLANDER 2, says it's "getting close to going"

Movie Ben Stiller by

Ben Stiller spoke to Empire Magazine about Zoolander 2, revealing some plot details.  Earlier we reported that the script was complete. As you know, the sequel will take place 10 years after Zoolander, with Derek and Hansel cast aside by an industry in which, “ten years is a thousand years. They’re both totally out of it and have to start from scratch.”

Here is what Still her had to say about the plot:

“And then there are things set up at the end of the first movie that we’re able to build on, like Derek and Matilda have a son, and Mugatu went to jail. There’s a lot there, I’m excited about the idea of doing it. It feels like it’s getting close to going.”

According to Stuart Cornfeld, Stiller’s producing partner, the film may not be so "close to going." He goes on to say,

“It’s hard to get any movie made. It’s frustrating, because I believe the script is incredible. It’s not just putting on those costumes again, it’s a great story to tell.”

“We’ve got what I consider to be the best comedy script I’ve read in years and years, with jokes that haven’t been told before."

I am very excited to see a Zoolander sequel so I hope that this does get made sooner than later. What are your thought son this news?
