Universal to make Film Based on the SECRET SERVICE

One of the many things I would have liked to do in my life is to become a Secret Service agent. And who's to say I'm not? For all you know this whole movie blogging thing is just my cover. Of course I couldn't tell you anyway because it would be a secret, so I guess you'll never know unless my cover is blown, and my cover can't be blown if I'm not a secret service agent.

So, Universal Pictures is in the process of developing a reality-based action film centered around the recruitment and training of Secret Service agents. The story will come from a cover story in the Washington Post written by Laura Blumenfeld. The studio optioned this story and hired Greg Poirier (The Spy Next Door and National Treasure: Book of Secrets) to write the script.

Blumenfeld actually went through the secret service training program so she could write her article, and "it included shooting weapons, hand-to-hand combat, psychological and other training methods." As you may or may not know to be a Secret Service agent you don't need a background in law-enforcement to get hired. Anyone can apply and get hired on.

According to Deadline the film "will follow a group of aspirants who go through the training program to become agents." I just hope to hell this movie doesn't end up being anything like the movie S.W.A.T. because that was a turd.

I suggest you read the article that the movie is going to be based on because it's actually pretty cool. Here is the first part of the article...

After 16 weeks of action-packed exercises that will test them to the core, the recruits in Training Class No. 283 will pass into the elite ranks of the Secret Service -- or leave humiliated

LESSON ONE: Get Ready To Die
