Daniel Radcliffe's THE WOMAN IN BLACK picked up by CBS Films

Daniel Radcliffe's gothic horror thriller, The Woman in Black will have U.S. distribution thanks to CBS Films. The film is directed by James Watkins and also stars Ciaran Hinds, Janet McTeer and Shaun Dooley. This will be the first film Radcliffe appears in after Harry Potter comes to an end. Deadline reports that CBS aggressively outbid Summit Entertainment, The Weinstein Company and Relativity Media. A release date has yet to be announced, but we will keep you posted.

Jane Goldman (X-Men: First Class writer) wrote the script that follows "a young lawyer (Radcliffe) who travels to a remote village, where he discovers the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman who is terrifying the locals." The Woman in Black is based on a 1983 novel by Susan Hill, and was also a stage play and a TV miniseries.

While the recent Potter films have been darker, this looks much darker. The movie really has an eerie period film, which I love. It's cool to see him playing a different character. Check out the teaser trailer below and share your thoughts!
