Warner Bros has two TARZAN scripts in the works

Warner Bros. long-planned Tarzan movie looks to be gaining steam after several years. According to Deadline, the studio may even commission two separate scripts to be written at the same time. Rising scribe Adam Cozad has been hired to write one of the scripts. He recently wrote Archangel, which has Joseph Kosinski at the helm and the Jack Ryan reboot. The studio is also in talks with Craig Brewer to pen a different version of the film. This common strategy makes sense and is a way for WB to hedge their bets, The studio will typically make a decision on which script they like best when they both are turned in. In many cases, the unused script becomes the sequel if the film is turned into a franchise. Either way it looks like we are close to seeing a Tarzan film on the big screen again.

My personal favorite Tarzan movie was Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes starring Christopher Lambert. I remember watching that in theaters and again when it played on HBO. I recommend watching it if you have not seen it. What are your thoughts on this news?
