John Luessenhop to direct TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D

It looks like Leatherface will be scaring audiences in 3D thanks to Lionsgate. John Luessenhop (Takers) is in negotiations to direct Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D. Production is slated to begin in June. The project stalled after Lionsgate bought the rights from New Line in 2009. The film is being produced by Carl Mazzocone, former president of production at Twisted Pictures with Nu Image’s Avi Lerner and Mark Burg exec producing. Lionsgate is set to distribute in the U.S. with international rights being sold at Cannes by Nu Image.

I was not the remake and am not fond of the idea of this being made in 3D. Let's hope that it will be one of the better 3D horror films made so far. What are your thoughts on this news?
