Andrew Adamson directing BEASTS OF BURDEN feature film

Andrew Adamson (Shrek, Chronicles of Narnia) is set to direct CG-animated feature adaptation of Dark Horse comic Beasts of Burden. Adamson is also producing with his Strange Weather Films partner Aron Warner and Mike Richardson of Dark Horse Entertainment. The film is  is being made by Reel FX, whihc is run by Industrial Light and Magic senior executive Ed Jones and former Walden Media CEO Cary Granat.

The story is set in "a community called Burden Hill where a series of supernatural events occur, causing a gang of dogs (and one cat) to team up in order to keep their owners and the town’s residents safe." The characters created by Evan Dorkin (Milk & Cheese) and Jill Thompson (Scary Godmother), first appeared in The Dark Horse Book of Hauntings, Witchcraft, the Dead and Monsters.  

Burden is being executive produced by Dark Horse Entertainment’s Keith Goldberg along with Strange Weather’s Jeff Fierson co-producing. Jared Mass, Reel FX’s head of feature development, is overseeing the project for the studio. Audiences will next see RIPD, from Dark Horse and Universal. The film will star Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges. They also have big-screen adaptations of Emily the Strange and Umbrella Academy at Universal.
