Fox in talks with James Cameron, Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Sam Worthington to produce big sci-fi action film

It looks as though James Cameron and Sam Worthington coudl re-team for a new big budget sci-fi action film that 20th Century Fox is developing. Unfortunately, they are only in talks to be producers on the project along with Lorenzo di Bonaventura. THR reports that the studio is currentlyi n in early talks with writer Will Staples to write a pitch for a film titled Myth

No deals have been made official, but Cameron would serve as executive producer, and di Bonaventura and Worthington as producers. Cameron is not planning to direct, nor is Worthington attached to star at this point. Since this is the very early stage of development, nothing much is known about the project other than it is a mix of action and science fiction.

With everyone involved it is obvious that Myth is a giant project. Staples and his past writing partner, Sean O’Keefe (have parted ways recently), have written Apaches for Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney, World’s Most Wanted for Neal Moritz and Universal, and an Alaskan adventure film at Walden Media. Staples is best known for writing video games like Activision’s Call of Duty franchise, which is not only the one of the best-selling games of all time, but is considered as one of the best shooter games available.

Things could easily change at this stage of development, but the current people involved sound like there is a chance for greatness on Myth. What are your thoughts on this news?
