It looks like Marvel will be at Comic-Con 2011 After All

Movie MarvelComic-Con by Joey Paur

It was recently reported in the New York Times that Marvel was on the fence about having a film presence at Comic-Con this year joining other studios like Disney and Warner Bros. who are reportedly sitting it out. You can read more about that here

I thought it was silly to think that Marvel would bow out this year because they're Marvel, and The Avengers is a huge movie that the rabid fans want to get a taste of. I just didn't think they would deprive the fans of that awesomeness.

L.A. Times reporter Geoff Boucher took the issue to Twitter and debunked this report that Marvel would be sitting out Comic-Con in July. Here's what he had to say...

To be more precise: I'm saying the reports that Marvel is "sitting out" Comic-Con are incorrect.

So there you have it! And you know that if Marvel is there, The Avengers will be there, so that gives us fanboys and fangirls something to really look forward to and get excited about. It will be interesting to see what else Marvel will unveil. We know that Iron Man 3 is happening as well as sequels to Captain America and Thor, but I hope they will be making some other big movie announcements. The studio has talked about looking at making several smaller Marvel films so maybe we will find out what those are.

What would you like to see Marvel bring to Comic-Con this year?
