James Mangold to Direct THE WOLVERINE for FOX

It looks like 20th Century Fox and Hugh Jackman have chosen a director to take over for Darren Aronofsky on The Wolverine. I still wish Aronofsky would have stayed on, I would have loved to see his vision realized. According to Deadline the directing job is going to go to James Mangold the director of films such as Girl Interrupted, Identity, Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma and Knight & Day. I've enjoyed most of his films, and I think he's a very solid director. But, does he have what it takes to take on The Wolverine? I'd like to think that he does, but it's still hard to get excited knowing what we could have had with Aronofsky.

The deal has not been sealed yet, negotiations are about to start but according to the report he "will take the helming job." So I guess we can expect Mangold to be the new director of The Wolverine.

At this point let's just except what happened, Aronofsky isn't directing the movie. It's time to move on and hope for the best. Mangold is a very talented director that has made some great films in his career, and I'm willing to give him my support and see what he ends up doing with the film.

The movie starts shooting in the fall, and is based on the first solo Wolverine mini-series from 1982 by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller that sent Logan to Japan in a story involving the ninja clan the Hand.

What do you all think about Mangold directing The Wolverine?
