Guillermo del Toro talks PACIFIC RIM and HELLBOY 3

Guillermo del Toro spoke to Shock Til You Drop during while doing press for Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, which is set to open in theaters on August 26. Del Toro revealed some details about his upcoming film Pacific Rim and talked a bit about Hellboy 3.

When describing the monsters in the film, del Toro revealed that they are "Huge" and goes on to say, "This is my most un-modest film, this has everything. The scale is enormous and I'm just a big kid having fun." The film will reportedly involve a monster invasion, which will be fought by humans in giant mechanical suits.  The director plans on returning to pre-production on Pacific Rim after press concludes on Dark.

Del Toro went on to discuss a recent report from Mike Mignola stating that the director would not return for Hellboy 3. He says that in fact, he would indeed like to direct the third film. He stated that his schedule is so hectic that "by the time I get to it and by the time we got Ron [Perlman] back, he'll be a HellMAN and in a wheelchair," del Toro joked.

He also revealed that he is also still interested in doing Frankenstein, despite other similar projects currently in development. He goes on to state that "My take is so unique, it will set it apart,"and Universal is still interested in the project as well.

I am actually very excited about Pacific Rim and am very happy with the cast as well. What are your thoughts on this news?
