Chris Hemsworth Set to Star in SHADOW RUNNER

Thor star Chris Hemsworth is set to star in a new action-thriller called Shadow Runner. Sony Pictures recently acquired the film pitch from screenwriter Hossein Amini who's worked on films such as Drive, Snow White and the Huntsman, and 47 Ronin.

According to Deadline the film was inspired by an "incident in which an Israeli assassination team targeted a Hamas leader whom the Israelis believe murdered several soldiers and helped stockpile Iranian-made missiles. He was tracked to Dubai, and the Israelis managed to smuggle in an entire 17-person hit team to take him out in the corridor of a five-star hotel. The operatives were captured on a hotel security camera trailing after the victim, reemerging and getting on the elevator after he was killed." It was also pointed out that the film wont replicate these events. 

Hemsworth will play a special ops team leader who specializes in taking on "impossible tasks" with his team of operatives. Columbia Pictures production president Hannah Minghella had this to say in a statement,

We think this story is a terrific action thriller for Chris Hemsworth and we know this project in is great hands with Tripp, Beau, and Will as they develop the film.

Hemsworth has proven himself to be a solid actor, who is on the fast track to becoming a big star. It will be cool to see how this film production plays out. I'm interested in learning more about the story. What do you all think?
