Reese Witherspoon to produce and may star in WHO INVITED HER? for DreamWorks

DreamWorks has won a bidding war and has bought Sascha Rothchild's comic pitch Who Invited Her? for a mid-to-high six-figures, according to Variety. Reese Witherspoon is set to produce the project, and may use the film as a possible starring vehicle.

Witherspoon's Type A Films will produce along with Gary Foster and Russ Krasnoff under their Krasnoff Foster Entertainment banner. They have worked with DreamWorks on The Soloist, which starred Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Foxx.

The script will be written by Rothchild and tells the story of "a woman who insists on tagging along on a guy's bachelor party weekend." DreamWorks beat out Sony and Paramount on the project which is being described as a romantic comedy in the vein of Bridesmaids.

With the success of Bridesmaids, it makes sense that other studios are trying to duplicate ithe success. If you have not seen it in theaters, you are missing out. I really have not been a huge fan of Witherspoon, and I am having trouble seeing her in a comedic role that may have vulgarity. What are your thoughts on this news?
