TREE OF LIFE heading to UK theaters in July

This weekend Terrence Malick's The Tree Of Life continues to expand in North America and all over hte world, but the UK. No word of a UK release has been available until today. In April, it was reported that Icon had planned to release the film before its premiere at Cannes, which was a breach of contract with Summit International. According to Deadline, Fox Searchlight has picked up the U.K. rights to the film from Bill Pohlad's River Road Entertainment, which financed the film.

A July 8 opening is planned for the UK. So far the film has had a four screen average of $93,230 per theater, which beats Black Swan's launch for the studio. The film has added eight markets and will add another 12 this week to a total of 22.
