Damen Lindelof (Lost) has just gotten a big pay day to write and produce a big-budget family friendly sci-fi feature for Disney. As is typical, this proejct the plot details are being kept under wraps. According to Deadline, the project is being designed to have multiple platforms and has a working title of 1952

Lindelof's deal was a result of a series of meetings with Disney's production president Sean Bailey and senior exec Brigham Taylor. This marks the first time that the writer-producer has had to produce a project from the ground up. Lindelof has been pretty busy as a screenwriter since ending the run of Lost and serving as one of the show's creators. He's worked with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci to script Cowboys & Aliens for Jon Favreau.  He also did a rewrite of Ridley Scott's Prometheus script and is hard at work with Kurtzman and Orci to finish the script to the Star Trek sequel so that production can start by next year at the latest.

I am guessing that he will focus on this secret project upon competion of Star Trek. I love science fiction love period films, which I am guessing this likely is. As soon as we get more information on this project we will keep you posted. In my mind, Lindelof can do no wrong ever since Lost.

What are your thoughts on this project?
