E3 2011 First Impressions - UNCHARTED 3: DRAKES DECEPTION - Multiplayer

VideosGames E3 by Joey Paur

Uncharted 2 was one of the best video games I've ever played. It had one hell of a great story, and a pretty incredible setting with some amazing graphics to top it off. Needless to say Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception is on the top of my highly anticipated video game list.

Thankfully I didn't have to wait 4 freakin’ hours to play it like I had to do with Battlefield 3. Sony set up a network and had us all play one of the multiplayer maps on the game, which ended up being very cool. But, this is still one of the few games that I am looking forward to playing just to play through the story mode to see how it plays out. The multiplayer is just a cool bonus.

I will say that I hate it when I go to these things, and am thrust in to the middle of a deathmatch to find my controller controls are inverted. It makes me look like an idiot while I'm playing, I changed it after I got killed off very quick. Besides that, I really enjoyed playing the multiplayer in the awesome settings that were designed for the game. Just like in the story mode they are very detailed and elaborate maps. I got to play in these ancient ruins, and it was just a fun playground to run around in and shoot people.

The gameplay was smooth and entertaining. I actually like playing third person shooter games more than first person shooters. Paying this game is like playing a work of amazing art. If you enjoyed the first couple games as much as I did, then this is a must own.

Here's the story synopsis for the game:

Drake is back on the trail of his ancestor Sir Francis Drake, leading him right into a conspiracy spanning centuries. Drake must now trek through Europe and across the Middle East in search of a lost city known as “The Atlantis of the Sands”. The game also dives into the history between Drake and long time partner Sully, giving us gamers an insight on how these two ended up being friends.
