New TREE OF LIFE Video Featurette

VideosMovie Featurette by Joey Paur

A new behind the scenes featurette for Terrence Malick's Tree of Life was released. The film was recently picked up for distribution by Fox Searchlight Pictures and it will be released on May 11th 2011. As far out and artsy as this movie looks and will probably be, I am still very interested in seeing what Malick's full vision of this film is. We've only seen bits and pieces of it, but it is enough to spark a lot of interest in me. This seems like it's going to be a film people either love or hate, not sure if there is any middle ground room here.

The featurette includes the cast, and crew talking about the film, the story, their characters and how it was created. Check out the behind the scenes featurette and tell us what you think!

Here's the Official Synopsis:

From Terrence Malick, the acclaimed director of such classic films as Badlands, Days of Heaven and The Thin Red Line, The Tree of Life is the impressionistic story of a Midwestern family in the 1950's. The film follows the life journey of the eldest son, Jack, through the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as he tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father (Brad Pitt). Jack (played as an adult by Sean Penn) finds himself a lost soul in the modern world, seeking answers to the origins and meaning of life while questioning the existence of faith. Through Malick's signature imagery, we see how both brute nature and spiritual grace shape not only our lives as individuals and families, but all life.
