24 Showrunner Developing new Sci-Fi Feature 2084 - 1984 meets The Terminator
24 Showrunner Howard Gordon is teaming up with Final Destination director James Wong to develop a new sci-fi film project called 2084 for Alloy Entertainment. The movie is simultaneously being developed alongside a young adult book series being written by Gregg Rosenblum.
Gorgan and Wong came up with the idea. which was pitched as a "1984 meets The Terminator, the story is set in the late 21st century, a time where robots, once created to aid humans and fight wars, now control the population’s every move." This really isn't anything we haven't seen or heard of before, but it will be interesting to see how the film is actually going to turn out. I can see the potential.
Gordon has got a great TV series track record, he's also worked on TV series such as Buffy the Vampire Slyer, Angel and The X-Files. So the film definitely has a solid producer. As for Wong, he's also worked on Final Destination 3 and the TV series The Event. I haven't been overly impressed by anything that Wong has done, so on the directing front I'm not too impressed.
