James McTeigue set to Direct MESSAGE FROM THE KING

Movie James McTeigue by Joey Paur

James McTeigue, the director of V For Vendetta and Ninja Assassin has been brought on board to direct FilmNation Entertainment's thriller Message From the King. The script for the film was written by Oliver Butcher and Stephen Cornwell (Unknown).

According to Deadline the film "centers on Jacob King, an enigmatic outsider who comes to LA to investigate the sudden disappearance of his sister."

It's a pretty simple plot summary that I can get behind. I enjoy watching these kind of thrillers, especially if it's good and keeps you on the edge of your seat. As for McTeigue directing it, he's hit or miss for me, I loved V for Vendetta but I thought Ninja Assassin sucked. He recently finished shooting The Raven, which star John Cusack as Edgar Allen Poe, and that looks like it could be a really good film.

What are your thoughts on McTeigue taking on this new film project?
