Robert Zemeckis may Direct HERE THERE BE MONSTERS

Movieby Joey Paur

Warner Bros. and Legendary pictures have hired Brian Helgeland (Mystic River, Green Zone, L.A. Confidential) to write the script for a fictional Revolutionary War set film called Here There Be Monsters, and Robert Zemeckis is currently in talks to direct.

The movie will center on Revolutionary War naval hero John Paul Jones, but they will be adding sea monsters into the mix. Jones coined the phrase, "I have not yet begun to fight!" The idea spawned from the mind of Legendary Pictures CEO Thomas Tull.

The film has got a very talented writer so at least we know the script will be good. It would be awesome to see Zemekis officially come on board the project, as long as he doesn't do the whole Motion Capture thing. The guy may have help start the motion capture technology revolution, but he just kept using it to make bad films.

Sea monsters attacking ships during the Revolutionary War is simply a very fun idea, and it should be cool to see how this film turns out. What are your thoughts on the idea?
