Kevin Smith's RED STATE - New Red-Band Trailer and Poster

Lionsgate has released a great new official trailer for Kevin Smith's hardcore religious thriller Red State. The trailer is not official labeled a red-band trailer but it should be. It was previously revealed that the film is set to hit VOD on September 1st, followed by a theatrical release. Now it looks like the movie will get a Los Angeles theatrical run starting on August 19th and run through the 25th at the New Beverly Cinema. This officially qualifying the film for the Academy Awards, 

The performances in RED STATE are extraordinary and well-worthy of Academy recognition, so in order to comply with the AMPAS rules governing Oscar qualification, SModcast Pictures is screening the film for one week in Los Angeles, starting 8/19.

I thought the film was pretty good, the more I thought about it the more I liked it. It was very intense, and even though it isn't really a horror film it's still scary as hell. I'm torn with the ending of the film because it seriously could have ben so much more awesome than what Smith ended up doing.
