Willem Dafoe in talks for PACIFIC RIM, Rob Kazinsky set to star

Willem Dafoe is in talks to star in Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim and Rob Kazinsky is set to star in the Legendary Pictures project. Variety reports that Dafoe is being sought to play "a rogue scientist with expertise on alien creatures," while Kazinsky is starring as "a member of the team trying to defeat the invaders."

The cast also includes Charlie Hunnan, Idris Elba, Charlie Day and Max MartiniTravis Beacham's script is "set in 2025, the 12th year of a war against alien creatures who reside in the middle of the Pacific Ocean." Filming is slated to begin this fall.

Dafoe's The Hunter is premiering at TIFF and the actor will be seen in John Carter and Odd Thomas. Kazinsky is a regular on Law & Order: Los Angeles and Brothers and Sisters. I sure hope that Dafoe is cast in this film. The cast is perfect as it stands, but he would be a great addition, What are your thoughts on this casting news?
