Just in case you forgot, G.I. Joe actually stopped Cobra from blowing up the Statue of Liberty on the 4th of July back in 1987. This G.I. Joe opening sequence was created just for the animated movie, and it makes me damn proud to be an American. I also can't help but laugh at and enjoy the ridiculousness of it. Admit it, The final sequence where Duke is flying the American Flag up to the top of the Statue of Liberty brings a tear to your eye, doesn't it.
