Rupert Wyatt and Andy Serkis may team for performance capture take on ANIMAL FARM

It looks as though Rupert Wyatt may be reteaming with Andy Serkis for a new take on George Orwell's Animal Farm. Wyatt recently spoke to Empire Magazine and revealed his possible future projects. Up next he will be directing a three-part miniseries for U.K. TV titled The Echo Chamber, which is about British spies infiltrating the IRA. If Rise of the Planet of the Apes does well he could be involved in future installments. Serkis is an advocate of the performance capture medium and has starred in films like Lord of the Rings, King Kong and The Adventures of Tintin. 

The classic 1945 novel is "set amongst the revolutionary animals on an English farm, serving as an allegory to the rise of Joseph Stalin, detailing the socialist’s writer’s heartbreak at the totalitarian regime in the Soviet Union." This will be the third time that it's been adapted into a feature film. The first was in 1954 animated version and then a 1999 live-action Jim Henson Company takethe voices of Patrick Stewart, Ian Holm and Kelsey Grammer.

I am very excited to see Apes on August 5th and think Wyatt is an extremely talented director. He would be a perfect fit for this project, which will still be a long way off due to scheduling. What are your thoughts on this news?
