Warner Bros. Picks up Vampire Comic Book - UNDYING LOVE

Movie Warner Bros. by Joey Paur

Warner Bros. is jumping in on the vampire action by picking up the rights to a comic book miniseries from Image Comics called Undying Love. The plan of course is to adapt the comic into a feature film.

The comic was created by Tomm Coker and Daniel Freedman, and it takes the traditional vampire lore, and throws in some Chinese monster myths with dash of Hong Kong style action. The story "centers on an ex-soldier who falls for a girl that happens to be a vampire. The only way the two can be together is if the man takes on the vampire who created her, which also means fighting an army of monsters in the Hong Kong underworld."

The creators of the comic series will also write the script for the film. I've never read the comic so I don't know if this will make for a good film adaptation or not. As far as the story goes, it just seems like it's going to be another mediocre vampire film. The title of the comic alone makes me not want to read the comic or see the movie. I understand the term don't judge a book by it's cover, but does that include the title?

If you've read the comic, what are your thoughts on this film adaptation. If you haven't read it, what do you think of the initial plot?
