Comic-Con 2011 Here I Come! What I am looking forward to most!

Comic-Con by

Comic-Con is almost upon us, and I am filled with a whirlwind of emotions. Of course I am excited, but I am also a bit nervous and a tad bit overwhelmed. This will be my first time attending San Diego Comic-Con. I have been to Disney World on some of the most crowded days and I am guessing it will be even crazier. There are so many awesome panels and vendor tables that I am interested in seeing. I am not a huge collector of toys and collectibles, so my main goal is to attend as many panels as humanly possible to bring you the best coverage for the event as possible. My goal is to not only give you cool coverage of the event as a whole, but the perspective of a first time attendee. That is why I am a bit overwhelmed, there is just so many great things going on that I don’t know where to start. Imagine the scene in the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory where the kids are starring at the window at all of the collection of sweets, and you would have an idea of the facial expression I make when looking at the various listings of panels and attendees.

I thought it would be a great idea for me to put together a listing of some of the most anticipated aspects of the Con. I am a huge movie fan so any of the movie related panels are on my radar. Legendary Pictures has an amazing lineup that includes Pacific Rim, Seventh Son and Paradise Lost. I am also very excited for the possibility of seeing Marvel Studios’ presence, whatever that may be. Friday is going to be one heck of a busy day with The Amazing Spider-Man, Total Recall and Haywire. I am interested in seeing the Twilight panel, but will more likely be able to be more interested in seeing the commotion and chaos of the hysterical fans.

On Saturday there are some good stuff as well. Knights of Badassdom looks like a lot of fun. Commmunity, Snow White and the Hunstman, Fringe, Person of Interest and Alcatraz look really good. It will look cool to

I am excited to see the various booths, even though I am not a collector. The Hasbro exclusives that we shared recently look unbelievable. There are going to be so many cool collectibles and toys that I have a feeling that I may end up coming home with something.

One of the main reasons I am the geek that I am today is because of my health issues. I was born with a disease that causes joint deterioration. I have had a hip fusion that forced me to be in a full body cast for six months at age 12 and then a hip replacement more recently, During that time I was told that I had to avoid sports. At first I hated my predicament, but then I started to immerse myself in all things movies, TV, video games and more. As a result of this I will be using a mobile scooter to maneuver my way through the crowd to provide the best possible coverage. So if you see someone on a mobile scooter wearing a GeekTyrant tshirt you will know it’s me. Feel free to say hello and we can revel in our geekiness!
