TWIXT Actor Alden Ehrenreich Joins Chan-wook Park's STOKER
Alden Ehrenreich who has had roles in Francis Ford Copolla's Tetro and Twixt, has landed a new role alongside Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland) in the Fox Searchlight horror thriller Stoker, which is being directed by Oldboy's Chan-wook Park.
This sounds like it's going to be a solid film. In the story Wasikowska plays a teenage loner who's thrown off by the arrival of her mysterious uncle played by Matthew Goode (Watchmen) while she mourns the death of her father. Ehrenreich will play a character named Whip Taylor, "an alpha dog on the football team who's initially kind to Wasikowska's protag despite the fact that his jock friends pick on her, though he eventually forces himself on her."
The film was written by Prison Break's Wentworth Miller, and also co-stars Nicole Kidman, Lucas Till and Jacki Weaver. There's a lot of great talent supporting this movie, but Park involvement as the director is probably the most exciting part of it. The guys makes some twistedly awesome films!
Steven Spielberg actually found the actor Ehrenreich in a short comedy video that was shown at a bat mitzvah when the actor was only 14 years old.
