John Landis plans return to the horror genre

Movie John Landis by

American Werewolf in London director John Landis, is planning a return to the horror genre. His recently direcred a dark comedy titled Burke & Hare (arriving September 9th) and is already working on his next project. Bloody Disgusting reports that his next project could be a monster movie he's currently writing with Alexandre Gavras, the son of legendary Greek filmmaker Costa-Govras.

Here's what he had to say:

"You know what? Actually, I'm writing one with Alexandre Gavras and we're shooting it within the next two years in Paris," he said. "Yeah, a little monster movie. It has no title [yet]...You're the first people to know about it."

Unfortunatley he did not give much more information on the project. He did reveal that the movie will feature both French and English dialogue, and that "his casting will be populated with bilingual thesps as a result." He even revealed that he has actors already attached to star, but refused to say who they were.

Here is what he said:

"It's interesting...my cast has to be bilingual because it's being shot in French and English," he told me. "We know who's gonna star in it, but this is all off the radar right now [so I can't tell you who they are]."

I loved Landis's work and am excited to see him return to horror. I wonder who he has lined up for this film. What are your thoughts?
