Walton Goggins joins GI JOE 2: RETALIATION

Walton Goggins has joined the cast of Paramount's G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation. Variety reports that Goggins will play Warden Nigel James in the action sequel, directed by Jon Chu (Justin Bieber: Never Say Never). He joins Channing Tatum and a mostly new cast that includes Dwayne Johnson and Adrianne Palicki. Bruce Willis is also in talks for a role.

The script was penned by Zombieland co-authors Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Filming begins in New Orleans later this month, and is slated for a June 29, 2012 release. Goggins is set to star in Steven Spielberg's Abraham Lincoln biopic "as progressive Democrat Wells Hutchins." He  is nominated for a supporting actor Emmy for his role as Boyd Crowder on FX's Justified, and appeared in Cowboys & Aliens and stars in the September release Straw Dogs.

I think he is a solid actor that is poised for more cool roles like this. I am actually getting more and more excited about this film primarily because of the cast. What are your thoughts?
