Luke Wilson joins STRAIGHT A'S cast
Luke Wilson has joined the cast of the dramady Straight A's from Nu Image/Millenium Films. Variety reports that James Cox is directing based on Dave Cole's script. Yesterday we reported that Anna Paquin and Ryan Phillippe were slated to star. Riley Thomas Stewart (The Beaver) will play Phillippe's son.
The story follows "a man who's been in and out of rehab for 10 years (Phillippe) and is haunted by the ghost of his dead mother pressing him to return home to the family he turned his back on years ago. He trots back to Shreveport, only to be faced with his brother's wife, who's still pining for him, her first love." Wilson will play Paquin's husband and Phillippe's brother.
The film is being produced by Scoot McNairy, John Pierce, Holly Wiersma and Rene Besson. Avi Lerner, Danny Dimbort, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, John Thompson, Jamie Adamic and Lati Grobman are serving as executive producers.
This sounds like a perfect fit for Wilson becasue it will show off his dramatic and comedic skills. I am a fan of Paquin on HBO's True Blood, so it will be cool to see her play another role. What are your thoughts on this news?
