Sony Computer Entertainment has released a great new trailer for Resistance 3 . The game is being developed by Insomniac games, and it looks awesome! The new trailer was released for Gamescom, and it sets the scene for Joseph Capelli's epic journey across Chimera infested America.

Resistance 3 is set to be released on September 9th 2011. Check out the new trailer for it below and hit us up with your thoughts!

Here are the plot and gameplay details of the game:

August 1957, United States is lost. Four years after Resistance 2, dishonorably discharged sentinel Joseph Capelli has given up fighting the Chimeran menace; he has been reduced to hiding with other survivors, including his wife and young son. When Dr Fyodor Malikov arrives with the opportunity to deliver a blow to the occupying Chimeran force, Capelli leaves his family to journey the harrowing road from Oklahoma to New York City. Along the way, he encounters the remnants of humanity left in the aftermath of the brutal Chimeran invasion.

The game will retain mostly the same gameplay mechanics as it predecessor albeit with several changes. The weapon wheel from the first Resistance game will be returning after it was excluded from Resistance 2. There will also be new environmental objects such as chimeran plants which explode when shot at. The game will see a mixture of new and old weapons; returning weapons include the Bullseye, Magnum, Rossmore, Auger, Marksman and Carbine, while one of the new weapons is the Mutator which shoots biological mist causing enemies to eventually explode causing splash damage,Dead eye sniper rifle, as well as a new food can shaped grenade, which releases an arsenal of nails when it explodes. All weapons are upgradeable, and become more powerful the more they are used. In line with the survival theme of Resistance 3, humans are forced to assemble their weapons from whatever scrap they can gather. Frag grenades, for example, are constructed from bean cans with nails attached to them.

The video game will also feature PlayStation Move support and stereoscopic 3D. Additionally, players will be able to utilize the PlayStation Sharp Shooter peripheral attachment.
