Cody Horn takes lead in MAGIC MIKE
It looks like Steven Soderbergh found his replacement for Jessica Biel. Cody Horn (End of Watch) has been cast in Magic Mike as the lead female role. THR reports (via the Playlist) that Horn will play the "sister of an up-and-coming male dancer played by Alex Pettyfer. The films cast includes Channing Tatum, Pettyfer Matthew McConaughey, Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer and Riley Keough.
The script was written by Reid Carolin and tells the real-life story of Tatum'early career as a male stripper. According to Deadline, Tatum plays the title character, "who schools a young dancer (Pettyfer) in how to hustle on and off the stage. It's a wild summer of dancing, partying, and women. The inspiration was Channing's own experiences as a stripper when he was 19." Tatum and Nick Wechsler are producing with Gregory Jacobs and Carolin.
Horn starred in a few episodes of The Office and FX's Rescue Me. This looks to be a big role for her. What are your thoughts on this news?
