Clifton Collins Jr. joins PACIFIC RIM cast

The cast of Pacific Rim continues to grow. Bloody Disgusting reports the veteran character actor Clifton Collins Jr. has joined the cast of the Guillermo del Toro-directed film for Legendary Pictures. He will star alongside Charlie Hunnam, Ildris Elba and Charlie Day. 

The alien invasion story set in Japan is being scripted by Travis Beacham. The story is set in "a future in which malevolent creatures threaten the earth, the planet must band together and use highly advanced technology to eradicate the growing menace."

Collins Jr. can be seen in JT Petty's Hellbenders, and alongside Jason Statham in Parker.Pacific Rim arrives in theaters July 12, 2013. I am a fan of Collins Jr. and am excited to see this film. What are your thoughts on this casting news?
