SCARY MOVIE 5 gets writers and hopes to lure returning cast

Scary Movie 5 has gotten one step closer to becoming a reality. Bloody Disgusting repotst that Dimension Films has hired Stephen Leff, John Aboud (The Comebacks) and Michael Colton (The Comebacks) to write the script to the spoof franchise that has grossed nearly $300 million worldwide.

The studio also hopes to lure some returning cast. Offers have gone out to Anthony Anderson (Scary Movie 3, Scary Movie 4, Scream 4), Regina Hall (Scary Movie 1-4) and Kevin Hart (Scary Movie 3, Scary Movie 4, Superhero Movie). At this time no deals have been signed yet. It is also not known if David Zucker will be stepping behind the camera to direct.

Everyone from Anna Faris to Hulk Hogan have been rumored as attached to the film since news of the fifth installment first appeared in October 2009. The film has a release date of April 20, 2012 date, but not much else is official.
