List of Rejected Titles for Pixar's TOY STORY

Movie PixarToy Story by Joey Paur

Toy Story has been an incredible franchise for Disney and Pixar, and it's weird to imagine it with a new title. The title of a film plays a huge part on the marketing, and if someone is going to see it or not, and Toy Story was a perfect title, but it's interesting to see what could have been.

Thanks to Pixar director Lee Unkrich and his twitter account we have a list of titles that were submitted by all of the employee's at Pixar Studios, with over 200 titles total. Here are few names from that list that will make for some good Pixar trivia.

  • The New Toy
  • Made in Taiwan
  • Moving Buddies
  • To Infinity and Beyond
  • Wind-Up Heroes
  • The Cowboy & The Spaceman
  • Spurs & Rockets
  • Bring Me The Arm of Buzz Lightyear
  • Rex’s First Movie
  • For the Love of Peep
  • Toyz in the Hood
  • Each Sold Separately
  • Wings & Pullstrings
  • Some Assembly Required
  • The Favorite

None of them really quite have the same ring as Toy Story. It's hard to imagine the film ending up with any of these titles, if I had to chose one I would have to say, Bring me the Arm of Buzz Lightyear, because it just sounds badass. What title would you choose?

I wonder if Toy Story would have been as successful if they went with another title. Maybe Pixar will end up making a CG animated film about reject movie titles at some point.
