Joss Whedon sheds light on THE AVENGERS future, hints at possible franchise

Joss Whedon was interrviewed by Poptimal.com while he was at Comic-Con this year. During the discussion he talked a bit about how The Avengers is coming along. He revealed that while it's a standalone film, the team still exist at the end and there WILL be teasers for what might come next as he sees the potential for more instalments.

I am super excited for this film, which opens on May 4th, 2012. It would be cool if there will be more installments to come. If this does as well as I think it will at the box office there is no telling what is possible.
