Hugh Jackman wants Anne Hathaway to star in LES MISERABLES with Him

As you know, The Wolverine has been pushed back to March 2012 so that Hugh Jackman can star in Tom Hooper's Les Miserables. Many of you would like Wolverine not to go into production at all, but that is not likely to happen. The parts of Jean Valjean and Inspector Javert are to be played by Jackman and Russell Crowe respectively. There have been a number of recent actors named to take ont he roles of Eponine and Cosette, including Hayden Panettiere, Miranda Cosgrove, Lucy Hale and Emma Watson. Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter reportedly lining up to play the Thenardiers. Amy Adams and Rebecca Hall have both been listed as possible stars for the role of Fantine, but now a new name has been added.

According to The Playlist (via Broadway World) Jackman wants Anne Hathaway to consider taking on the role of Fantine, and word is that she is “set to take on the role.” Not only is Hathaway a great actress, she can sing, so it makes sense her name is rising to the top of the list. Hathaway has a biopic on Judy Garland in development with The Weinstein Company. No confirmation on any of the roles aside from the leads has been made at this point so who knows what will happen.

Les Miserables is likely to head into production by the end of the year or at the start of 2012. There is still time to get the casting worked out. I would like to see Hathaway in the role. What are your thoughts?

No author bio. End of line.
