Taylor Schilling to play Ben Affleck's wife in ARGO
Ben Affleck looks to have found his wife for Argo. Variety reports that he has cast Taylor Schilling in the role. The political thriller is from Warner Bros. and has also added Tate Donovan and Nelson Franklin (The Office) to the ensemble cast.
Affleck is also starring in the film as "Tony Mendez, the CIA exfiltration expert who created a fake Hollywood production in order to rescue six Americans from the Tehran hostage crisis." Schilling will play "Christine Mendez, a former teacher who worries about her husband while he's off on a dangerous mission." Donovan will play "Bob Anders, a U.S. embassy consular officer in Tehran, while Franklin will play a reporter." George Clooney and Grant Heslov are producing the Chris Terrio-scripted pic through their Smokehouse banner along with David Klawans and Affleck.
Schilling, will be seen opposite Zac Efron in the romantic drama The Lucky One from Warner Bros. She is best known for starring on NBC's "Mercy." Donovan has worked with Clooney before, he co-starred in Good Night, and Good Luck. Franklin recently starred in Traffic Light on the small screen and appeared in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and I Love You, Man.
As a history buff and a geek I love the concept of this film. It's cool that Affleck is directing, he had some input into the casting of Schilling. The cast of Argo continues to shape up, making this an anticipated project for me. What are your thoughts on this news?
