GLEE's Darren Criss playing Kristen Wiig's love interest in new film

Glee's Darren Criss is set to star opposite Kristen Wiig in a new film. THR reports that Criss will play Wiig's love interest in the film that tells the tale of "a woman who fakes her own suicide to get an ex-boyfriend back, but instead, ends up living back with her mom (a gambler) in New Jersey." Annette Bening will play Wiig's mom in the film slated for release in 2013.

Anonymous Content and Celine Rattray and Trudie Styler's new production company Maven Pictures are co-producing the film. Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini will co-direct.

Here is what Rattray and Styler said in a statement:

"He’s been such a breakout star on Glee and we are excited to work on his big screen debut which continues to showcase his incredible musical and acting talents."

What are your thoughts on this news? I am not a fan of Glee personally, so I am not too excited to see this film.
