Johnny Depp to Produce Comic Book Adaptation of THE VAULT

Movie Johnny Depp by Joey Paur

Johnny Depp and his Infinitum Nihil production company are set to produce an adaptation of the Image three-part comic book series called The Vault, which was created by Sam Sarkar. The the rights to the comic were picked by GK Films.

The sci-fi story is set underwater, and it centers on a group of divers who, off the coast of Nov Scotia, uncover a sarcophagus with unusual remains and inadvertently unleash an ancient evil. The first issue of the comic book hits stores this week. Here's the full story description that's available,

A small team of treasure hunters struggles to excavate a dangerous and legendary treasure pit before a massive storm hits Sable Island, the "Graveyard of the North Atlantic". Equipped with all the latest technology, the scientists believe they are prepared against all of nature's fury, but nothing can prepare them for what they are about to unleash from The Vault.

I love this concept, this will make for a great adventure film. I like to research real life stuff like this for fun, and I always find stories about treasure hunting that I think would make for a great film. This sounds like a great story that will make for a fun film. What do you think of the concept?
