Kenneth Branagh circling GUERNSEY as next directing gig

Kenneth Branagh may have found his first directing gig since Thor. Variety reports that 20th Century Fox is circling the director to helm The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Dan Roos penned the script for the film, which will be produced by Paula Mazur and Mitchell Kaplan.

The film is based on the Publishers Weekly and New York Times bestseller by Annie Barrows and Mary Ann Shaffer. Tale has been described "as a love story set in London and on the island of Guernsey shortly after WWII." Branagh is great with directing historical period films, so this is a great news. He will next be seen on the big screen as Sir Laurence Olivier in My Week With Marilyn.

I would've loved to see him direct the Thor sequel, but am content known that he will be directing a project like this. What are your thoughts?
