Terry Gilliam's 1974 Do it Yourself Animation Show Clip
Check out this awesome clip from the BBC Do-It-Yourself Animation Show in 1974 featuring director Terry Gilliam showing viewers how he creates cut-out stop motion animations. This is a technique he used for years while working on Monty Python's Flying Circus. The Do-It-Yourself Animation Show, was a kid educational series about the art of animation.
The whole point of animation to me is to tell a story, make a joke, express an idea. The technique itself doesn’t really matter. Whatever works is the thing to use.
