2 new Images from THE HUNGER GAMES - Katniss & Peeta

Summit Entertainment has released two new images from director Gary Ross's The Hunger Games showing off Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta.  Elizabeth Banks, who plays Effie Trinket in the film, also offered up an update on the production saying,

We're almost done. We've got a little under a month left. It's very exciting. We're really making a provocative movie that's also highly entertaining. It's gonna be fun. It's really great to make something that you know people are excited about and also that you know is gonna deliver. I really think the fans are gonna love it.

I can't help but think this movie is going to turn out awesome, and also end up being a very big hit with audiences. 

The story chronicles a dystopic Capitol which requires its twelve subjugated districts to pay tribute in the form of a teenage boy and girl, forced to participate in the annual "Hunger Games," a fight-to-the-death live televised event. Katniss Everdeen's little sister is chosen in the lottery to participate and Katniss volunteers to take her place. Although persevering through hardship is commonplace for Katniss, she must start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love in order to win the games and return home.

The movie is set to be released on March 23rd 2012.

THE HUNGER GAMES will be directed by Gary Ross, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik.
